Mr White's Delish Mulled Cider
Mulled cider has always been a big favourite in our household, however this year it seems that mulled cider is absolutely everywhere - and I love it. This recipe is ages old - I've always used it - and it makes the most delicious mulled cider for those cold winter evenings that you can endlessly keep topping up!
Cut the apple into segments and put them, with sugar, cloves, cinnamon, juice from the orange, peel from the orange, and vanilla into a large pan and cover with just enough cider to dissolve the suger. Heat until the sugar has dissolved and then boil hard until it is reduced significantly and effectively forms a syrop. This is your base that will create the most delicious mulled cider. Now add 2-3 litres of the cider and heat to a good temperature - but don't boil! It's good to go! and best of all you can top it up with the remaining cider to keep your guests happy!
3-4 litres of dry farmhouse cider (preferably westcountry or indeed Ashcombe!)
1 large desert apple (eater)
2 Oranges - peeled
1 stick of Cinnamon
Half a vanilla pod (cut down the midle to let the seeds escape)
150g Caster suger
